Over the past couple years I’ve received many kind comments about the photography appearing here. First let me say thank you! If I haven’t thanked you personally, I want you to know I so appreciate the lovely things you’ve had to say!
Photography is a love of mine that goes way back. I mentioned in my “about” page that food photography (for me) all begins with the love of things as they are and as they come to us, raw, unadorned, almost pulsing still with life. To find them (or place them) in beautiful light that shows off their curves, their dimples, their stems or veins or seeds is such a thrill for me. Over and over in a day I hear myself saying the words, “I am so lucky, so lucky.”
If you enjoy the images, that makes me happy. I hope for that. Please stay and linger as long as you like. I’m very glad you stopped by.

Nearly all of the photos you’ll find here were taken in front of a large north-facing window in our home. Every once in a while, things will make their way to the sunny side of the room, but that’s not often. I don’t use flashes or strobes for food. I have them, but truth is, I’m not very good with them. The other truth is, I like nothing better than natural light – except perhaps for candlelight.
I love your photos and feel the same as you do about strobes, never was very good with them and prefer the gentleness of natural light it lends an individuality to ones images. Can I ask you how did you manage to display these photos in this way as a slideshow?
Thanks for your comments Lesley. It might be best to do this through email but I’ll give it a quick shot…When you import photos to insert into a post, they’re kept in a gallery. When you open the gallery itself, somewhere down toward the bottom left of the page you’ll see an option to insert the entire gallery into a slideshow. Simply follow the prompts. 🙂
Many thanks Ani., seems I need to upgrade my blog to do it!
