Fabulous photos as ever, Antoinette, capped by that gorgeous gang of ‘littles’ piled on the couch with their beloved you-know-who! I love the content *and* the images you used to illustrate it. The photo of the persimmons is stunning–a real knockout, with the intense, complementary colors and the way the persimmon in the foreground looks exactly like it’s crafted of porcelain. Almost too beautiful to imagine eating it, but then again . . .

Beautiful post, from beginning to end. The doldrums, if any, stopped the instant you started!

Kathryn, so sweet you are! Thank you! And I felt the same as you about the persimmons! How does one take a reckless bite of such a beauty? Somehow, one manages! 🙂

Thank you for each photo here. Every one a beautiful joyous antidote to the gray doldrums. I do appreciate the creativity of your writing, too — loving the meat of those definitions. Your final photo makes me grin ear to ear!

This is the perfect antidote for the way I’m feeling tonight, which basically is sorry for myself.

Do you ever feel as if everybody is having more fun? Friends going on winter vacations or having interesting plans for weekends.

I love your world and the beautiful way you describe and show it.

Well… I wish I had had this post a few days ago… your remedy would be the ultimate cure.. strolling alongside you through your photos. I especially love your little “littles”. This was a breath of fresh air today.
ps LOVE those dresses! In the first photo… what shop is that? 🙂

Ah, the dresses! Aren’t they wonderful? A boutique in NYC. Can’t remember the name, but thinking it was in TriBeCa. Next time there, I’ll be determined to find it again, and I’ll remember to let you know.
And, Ah, the littles! How can we not love those littles! 🙂

Ah, that was so lovely! And did I read a comment correctly that they are your grandchildren?! Sincerely, I thought they were your children, you are far too young and glamorous to be a granny…but then again, how fabulous for you and them!

It would be hard to pick a favorite of your posts, but if I had to it would most likely be this one! It is beautiful from start to finish, with the “littles” and their Nana as the highlight. Such wisdom in these words. Wondering if the dress photos were taken on your 2010 NY trip . . .

Deb, so nice to hear, thank you. The dress photos, yes, from 2010. So many good memories of that trip! I’m so anxious to walk those streets again, with sun next time! If you have the occasion to go to TriBeCa while there (doubtful, with your schedule!) will you let me know the name of the boutique where we saw the dresses in the first photo? I’m going to want to head back that way!
