wrapping up
Furniture and cabinets are shrouded in plastic, floors draped in folds of color-splattered canvas. Things a bit messy here, friends. Final painting has begun!
Only a few days remaining in this project of ours and then I’ll resume a more normal posting schedule here. I’ve appreciated so much your understanding and continued support even though I’d go missing for days and days on end. I’ll try to get a simple summer dessert out later today, but know better than to promise.
Again, I ‘m very grateful that you take time to visit me here, amidst the mess and real-lifeness. I SO appreciate your company!
May your day be light and breezy! See you soon!

Always good to read your voice. Good luck with the final stages of your kitchen transformation.
Thank you so much Roger!
Nearly there! You’ve done so well during all the work to pop into blogs, and write some of your own. Time soon to settle back and enjoy all that hard work and disruption 🙂
Your words though this have meant a lot to me Claire! I so appreciate you! 🙂
Almost done! that must feel good 🙂
I sure missed your posts Ani and look forward to all the beautiful recipes that will come out of that new kitchen
Sawsan, you ARE a dear! Thank you very much! I’ve really missed keeping current on the lovely blogs I follow (yours, par example!) Almost there though like you say and then something resembling normal again. I think I’m really going to love that! 🙂
Home stretch, Mama. Home stretch!
Run into another few snags, but still, we’re at least nearing the home stretch! yay!
Oh Spree, I certainly know where you are coming from…I’ve done this more times than I should admit. The end result will be so nice and after a while you will forget the dust and disruption. We all know what you are going through and definitely understand.
Karen I know you know – maybe even better than I ! 🙂 And yes, I definitely do know somewhere in me that all of the dusty disruption will soon be forgotten and we’ll be living in a space that suits us happily. I appreciate your kind words always!
What a beautiful photo. Can’t wait to see what your project looks like! See you at the finish line! =>
Oh thank you for that! I kind of love when a photo can be taken of something chaotic and messy and somehow come off looking pretty and serene. 🙂 !! And yes, see you at the finish line!
Congratulations Spree – and what a fabulous shot! Your efforts will be so richly rewarded and I can’t wait to see! xo
Shira, I know this might be one of the last things I should comment on after your always kind words, but i LOVE that photo of you!! 🙂
Oh that’s so sweet of you Spree! I figured it captures me at my best – right after a delicious coffee in the sun!! 🙂
Yippie! It’s happening! It’s happening! The end is near! I can’t wait to hear all about the finished project. And for more of your awesomeness to hit the interwebs!
I think ms beaucoup that I must share photos of the kitchen this coming week. We’ve had yet another couple hitches in our giddyups this past couple days that will delay completion of our bathrooms (yet again), but hey, my bathrooms aren’t why people show up here, so let’s just get on with the cookin’ shall we?!
Good luck!
You must be so excited, spree.. I can’t wait for the unveiling!!
Oh now i unerstand why you have been quiet! well I hope you are having tons of messy painting fun! c
We’ve been having tons of “fun” for 3-1/2 months now! We’re looking forward to that restful sort of pleasure now more than I can say! Thanks for stopping by Celi!
I’m so excited on your behalf for your kitchen remodel to be done! That moment when everything is back in place, and you look around in admiration and ask yourself, “Why did we wait so long to do this?” is priceless! And the moment when you get out your measuring cups, and bowls and mixer and start baking and cooking again is even better! Looking forward to seeing what beautiful creations come out of your new kitchen!
Mar – It’s always such a lovely thing when someone shares our excitement…thank you so much for that! I can hardly speak how anxious I am to get back to the normal, deliciously sweet rhythms of life…it won’t be long now! Thank you again! 🙂
Bless you in your new spree space :).
Thank you my dear friend!! 🙂
Glad to hear that the end is not just in sight but coming on fast. I know it’s a bit selfish but I cannot wait for the work to be done. I miss your posts, Spree.
What a lovely thing to say…thank you so much John…you just go on being as selfish as you like. I can take it!
